Abstract
In this paper, we propose a novel, cluster-based, energy-efficient cross-layer scheduling scheme. We assume the clusters have less energy-constrained cluster heads. To prolong the lifetime of the networks, we joint the route selection and setup with the schedule in the MAC layer. At route selection phrase, we bring the energy cost of the paths, energy conversation of the nodes on the paths and some other factors into the analysis of route algorithms, which is executed in the cluster heads. Simulation results show that the scheme has a better performance than other schemes in term of the network lifetime.
