Abstract
An efficient method to analyze the transient response of distributed RLC interconnects is proposed in this paper. After introducing numeral discrete capacitance and inductance, Norton theorem is applied to generate a reduced-order equivalent circuit, and finally a linear-time-complexity algorithm is then achieved to solve the distributed RLC interconnect. Experimental results show that the new method can obtain at least one-order magnitude of speed up over directly analyzing the distributed RLC interconnect by SPICE while keeping the high accuracy at the same time. Moreover, the new method can be extend to analyze distributed interconnect RLC trees very easily.
