Abstract
In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy complementary variable structure speed control scheme for a switched reluctance motor. The aim of the control is to improve the tracking performance of the system, irrespective of the highly nonlinear characteristic of the electromagnetic torque. Through simulations as well as practical testing on a real system, we have shown that the complementary variable structure control with a fuzzy logic regulation scheme can effectively improve the tracking performance in face of parameter variations.
