Abstract
Third-order dispersion (TOD) compensation by phase modulation of optical pulses (TFWHM = 1.9 ps) is optimized for 650 km transmission (β3 = 0.03 ps3/km) by real-time monitoring using all-optical sampling. With TOD compensation, clear 160 Gb/s eye-diagrams after 650 km transmission are demonstrated.
