Abstract

In the frame of the European sixth framework programme (FP6), antennas have been recognised as a strategic technology where a deep research restructuring is needed to keep future competitive edges. An ambitious Information Society Technologies (IST) project, implemented by a "Network of Excellence", started in 2004 with a duration of 4 years, aimed at increasing the efficiency and the level of innovation in the antenna research by creating a synergic network of European organisations. The participation of the entire chain of academic/industry researchers guarantees the highest level of applicability of the results produced by the network activities.
