Abstract
This paper reports an experiment based study of a LINC transmitter system consisting of two saturated class B LDMOS power amplifiers and three different outphasing power combining structures. The measurement results showed that the absolute electrical length of the two arms of the outphasing combiner is a critical parameter in designing a LINC system. A peak power, efficiency of 61% was measured and an average of 10% improvement in system efficiency was obtained at back off region when using the adequate Chireix-combiner.
