Abstract :
A low power 2.5 Gb/s TSPC (true single phase clock) 1:16 demultiplexer (DEMUX) applied in SONET OC-48 was realized in TSMC´s mix-signal 0.25-μm CMOS. All of the circuits in this paper are in TSPC structure to achieve high speed and low power. The fabricated DEMUX operates error free at 2.5 Gb/s by 231-1 pseudorandom bit sequences (PRBS) via on-wafer testing. The chip size is 1.9×1.0 mm2 which is decided by bonding pads. The power dissipation excluding the output driver is 45 mW with a single 2.5 V supply.
