Abstract :
Formation of fog is a winter predawn phenomenon. The behaviour of microwave signal propagating along the inhomogeneous medium has been studied, utilizing two terrestrial line-of-sight links. Fog period is characterized by an increase in attenuation of the link propagating along such a medium, which is absent for the link having fogless environment, during the same period of observation. The seasonal characteristics of the two microwave links are studied and fog days eliminated and the results show positive correlation characteristics between the two links.
