Abstract
The paper states that the railway is a highly integrated system and there can be interactions between many of its components. This complexity creates potential risk for railway projects, technical, operational and commercial risks. Railway projects can and have encounter extensive as well as expensive problems associated between specific railway systems. Typically difficulties will occur between new rolling stock or electrification interference with signalling and communications control systems.
