Abstract
The IEEE 802.11e introduces the hybrid coordination function (HCF) to provide required mechanism for supporting real-time services. In this paper, based on the calculated transition probability of a typical adaptive auto rate fallback (AARF) algorithm, a buffer-time (BT) based call admission control is proposed. Results show that the BT CAC not only utilizes the wireless resources more efficiently, but also satisfies the crucial QoS demanding for different real-time applications like video streaming and VoIP
