  • Abstract
Presented in this paper are the results of unsoldered electron gun design for transmitting broad ribbon electron beam into the atmosphere or other gas medium. The gun uses ribbon cathode 320times6 mm2 , rectangular focusing electrode located near the cathode with slot holes on the edges of its wide side walls and anode as a hollow tube with rectangular cross-section, whose end is closed with a massive copper grid with 20 mum titanium foil fixed on it in order to transmit the beam from vacuum volume of the gun. The size of rectangular output window is 320times40 mm2, cathode current pulse power is 25 A, accelerating voltage is 200 kV. The electrode shape and interelectrode spacings have been optimized using CAD, which allowed providing required current, homogeneous irradiation of the whole output window and homogeneous distribution of radiation doze behind the output window. The gun is designed to be used in technological installations for radiation processing of products and materials by beams of accelerated electrons
