Abstract
In the field of Quality of Service (QoS) routing, resource conservation (RC) and load distribution (LD) are two contradictory approaches needing balance [1]. In this paper, we propose a novel load sensitive QoS routing algorithm named Adaptive Bandwidth-inversion Shortest-Path(ABSP) for streaming applications. By introducing the link utilization as the index of network load, ABSP can maximize the LD when load is light and minimize the RC when load is heavy. Extensive simulations by comparing ABSP with existing BSP and EBSP validate the adaptive feature and better performance of ABSP in complex, heterogeneous networks.
