  • Abstract
    With the frameworks of complex technology theory, this paper discusses China´s digital TV development during the process of catching-up. We look at the obstacles and opportunities and emphasize on two kinds of obstacles in catching-up: one is technological obstacle, and the other is market obstacle. Then we propose two different approaches of catching-up: technology breakthrough and market breakthrough. We argue that the appropriate path for China to adopt is to occupy the domestic market in the first place and then catch up with the developed countries on technology innovation. At last, we have designed a questionnaire and conducted a survey to achieve deeper understanding at this issue
