Abstract
This paper tries to gain a better understanding of the dynamics of the radical innovations in the big emerging countries and to find key dynamics that influence such a process from the inter-firm network perspective. By observing the growth of collaboration network for China´s 3G standard, the effective matching and co-evolving among the local and foreign partners become critical for Chinese standard to survive the global standard war. Therefore, occupying central positions and exploring external resource they do not possess themselves to carry out necessary tasks are more likely to lead the indigenous firms to transform to the radical innovators
