Abstract
We present a new physical phenomenon, soliton-like electric pulses traveling in the lateral directions of thin-film PV. Our model is the equivalent circuit of micro-diodes and capacitors connected in parallel through a resistive electrode. The following features are found. (1) A small signal perturbation decays. (2) Pulses of certain shape and amplitude can propagate. (3) The reciprocal soliton velocity is expressed in the terms of specific resistance, specific capacitance, and nonuniformity screening length. We verified our analytical results with PSPICE modeling and obtained supporting experimental evidence
