  • Abstract
    A new model to calculate insertion loss of DSL (digital subscriber line) transformer was investigated. The whole insertion loss of the transformer was regarded as a sum of three different parts, which were primary circuit, ideal transformer and secondary circuit. When calculating insertion loss of primary circuit, secondary circuit could be looked as the matching load of the primary circuit. When calculating insertion loss of secondary circuit, primary circuit could be looked as the signal source and the source impedance of the secondary circuit. The insertion loss of the ideal transformer was zero. It was proved that the insertion loss calculated by this model was consistent with the testing result
