Abstract
In maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) decoding of turbo code, the density evolution of decoder´s internal variable alpha is shown to evolve to stability as the number of iteration increases. In this paper a new block-oriented early detection stopping criterion is derived from this property. Simulation results show that the bit error rate performance would drop almost negligibly if the criterion parameters are carefully chosen
