Abstract
Fading channels and interleaving before transmission are popularly assumed for high data rate communications. In this paper, an interleaved segment selective repeat scheme (SSR-I) for turbo coded hybrid automatic repeat request (TC-HARQ) is proposed to efficiently identify the set of "most-wanted" data for retransmission, yet with small requesting load in feedback. In general, the repeated data are clustered in channel experiencing similar deep fading but dispersed in the source frame. Furthermore, a simple dynamic retransmission strategy is presented so that the decoding error status is estimated and the number of retransmitted data segments can be determined accordingly. Through simulations, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme indeed outperforms type-I and traditional SSR-based TC-HARQ schemes
