Abstract
A ternary content-addressable memory (TCAM) is widely used for IP lookups. Because keeping all entries sorted in TCAM, we need move the entries for inserting a new entry. In this paper, we discuss the existing approach and the requirements for inserting a new entry on TCAM, and go on to propose a TCAM management scheme. Our scheme is based on the properties of prefixes without the additional hardware and data structure. It is easy to implement
