Abstract
Many content distribution technologies have been proposed with the development of Internet such as cache. To distribute bulk video and audio data, content distribution network has been proposed, and now peer to peer technology is guiding a new Internet age. Though it is very convenient to distribute large-scale content to long distance subscribers by broadcasting in hybrid fiber coaxial network, there are some limitations such as asymmetric uplink and downlink bandwidth and no differentiated service. Both Internet and HFC networks have some disadvantages in digital content distribution. In this paper, we combine the distribution technologies in HFC and Ethernet networks. We also cover CDN and new peer to peer technologies to our HFC broadcasting network. The results of our project show that the new distribution architectures significantly improve the efficiency and scalability
