  • Abstract
The electrooculogram (EOG) signal is acquired through a dual-channel signal acquisition system and processed for its use in biomedical instrumentation systems incorporating Neural Networks. This paper discusses the applications of EOG signal processing and emphasizes the possibility of building a circuit for controlling various operations to be performed by extremely paralyzed patients. The overall response of the system is improved upon inclusion of a neural network unit, which is used to eliminate sudden spikes and as far as possible, signals due to unintended eyeball motion and enable smooth maneuvering.
