Abstract
We are developing fast GPU-assisted implementations of a suite of visual effects processing primitives. We show that performance critically depends on the careful management of data movement (potential slowdown up to 2.7x) and resource contention (potential slowdown up to 2.5x). We are developing scheduling techniques that account for these effects.
