  • Abstract
    We have developed in its entirety a fixture to test, simply, quickly and thoroughly service boards. A service board is the key piece of equipment used in the implementation of the front-end control electronics of the LHCb muon detector. Such a test harness makes possible to access all physical connections of components fitted to a SB. The test system is made up of a minimal customized backplane of a 6U VME form factor, and of a specific Win API C++ program. The resulting fixture permits to electrically test with satisfactory coverage a fully populated service board. Modularity of Win API C++ program, object oriented, and programmability of test pulse module gives to test fixture way to fit at changes of testing electronics.
