Abstract
At a truly practical level, documentation control and good engineering practice are the minimum elements required to meet the EMC protection requirements for fixed installations. This presentation attempts to illustrate some best practice principles for design, some EMC mitigation methods and highlight EM assessment techniques which could be employed. The topics covered by this presentation include: (i) Cable routing and installation; (ii) Earthing and bonding; (iii) Lightning protection; (iv) Power system installation and quality; (v) EMC mitigation methods; and (vi) Assessment methods.
