Abstract
This paper analyzes the relative phase angle errors resulting from combining PMU data with IEEE standard compliant and non-compliant phasors. Simulations show that the relative phase angle errors could be so big that automatic devices in power systems may misoperate. Some possible solutions are proposed to correct the errors, and simulations are also performed to test the effectiveness.
