Title :
Power Electronic Applications with Wind Power

Abstract :
Increased use of wind power generation results in more stringent standards regulating their interconnection. The transmission systems to which the wind farms are connected to are often stretched to their maximum capacities. As penetration of wind energy becomes significant, energy storage will be required to maintain an operable power system. All these factors require increased use of power electronic applications. The end result is that through judicious use of power electronics, the energy generated by wind farms can be accommodated as best as the facilities will allow, with increased dispatchability and thus be of greater value.
