Abstract
Most released solutions of fast handoffs and smooth handoffs use access routers to process message and buffer packets. It is difficult to implement and expand in real networks. An anticipated protocol was proposed by using the identifiable signal information. This paper describes the anticipated handoff process, discusses the organization and usage of anticipated protocol, and analyzes the performance characters through experiment. By using local and domain management units, the anticipated protocol can reduce handoff delay, solve packet loss, and has capable of implementation and expansion.
