  • Abstract
In this article we describe a promising concept, related technological challenges, and the progress in the development of a next generation XL-PON, which is able to serve 512 customers over 100 km reach at 10 Gbit/s downstream and 2.5 Gbit/s upstream data rate. The experimental results show that such a systems is feasible.
