Abstract
We have studied a 5-level double converter for high power applications. In this paper, we propose a new control method for the 5-level double converter. The new method is direct power feedback system. It can reduce the harmonic distortion of the double converter input currents waveform, and maintain DC link capacitor voltages. We propose new modulation way of inverter also. It is able to reduce the number of switching at inverter side. And the switching loss which produces in the case of the change of ON and OFF can decrease. These high performances are confirmed by simulation results.
