Abstract
The steady-state characteristics of a hybrid wind turbine generator system using a shaft generator system are investigated. The hybrid system consists of a wind turbine and generator, a rectifier, a current-source thyristor inverter, a synchronous generator and a duplex reactor. The configuration of the hybrid wind turbine generator system is explained first. Then the effects of various parameters of the hybrid system, such as swept area of the wind turbine, on the steady-state characteristics of the system are discussed. Finally, the steady- state characteristics of the system having average constants of the synchronous generator are studied.
