Abstract
This paper deals with motion as a component of the context in a context-aware system. It presents a uniform approach to incorporate motion awareness at the middleware level. The proposed approach is independent from the nature of the spatial location representation used. Consequently, it can be used at different levels of spatial abstractions. Furthermore, the paper shows how to integrate motion-awareness into the framework for location aware modelling (FLAME) assuming the Region Connection Calculus (RCC8) spatial primitives.
