  • Abstract
The radar cross section (RCS) can be reduced by the combination of perfect electric conductor (PEC) and artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) cells, due to the 180deg of phase shift created between reflected waves in both kinds of surfaces. The 180deg phase delay is translated in a destructive interference that reduces the reflected power in the specular direction. A theoretical model based on array theory is presented and compared with simulated results obtained with the commercial software HFSS and the measurements realized to a breadboarded structure. Good agreement between simulations and measurements has been obtained.
