Abstract :
The paper summarises the results of a measurement campaign performed to characterise Inmarsat´s broadband global area network extension (BGAN-X) L-band land vehicular channels as a function of elevation angle and candidate antenna systems. The measurements were conducted at three elevation angles with three antenna types on UK motorways around the London area. These measurements comprise of simultaneous recording of signals from different antennas with characteristics similar to the BGAN-X land mobile classes in typical environments of interest.
