Abstract
In this paper a broad band circularly polarized antenna for satellite communications in X band is presented. It is composed of patch antennas, in order to satisfy the necessity of getting a portable antenna. Additionally it is required to get a bandwidth of 14% with a reflection of 15 dB and an isolation of 17 dB, so a double stacked patch configuration fed with a double ring branch-line is used. Therefore, a development of the 2x2 patch array and the theoretical and practical results reached are presented, describing the problems found and searching possible solutions.
