Abstract :
In this paper, a novel compact PIFA (patch inverted F antenna) is proposed. The design provides dual frequency operation by the combination of RH (right handed) and LH (left handed) modes. This technique is known as CRLH (composite right left handed), where both (LH and RH) modes are excited to get a dual response. The two work frequencies of the proposed antenna have been proven to be independent one of each other in terms of the antenna parameters which define them. Our design can provide replicas of both the first mode (TM11) and the second one (TM21), thus allowing diversity on the radiation pattern if required for a given application.
