Abstract :
The paper illustrates configuration and preliminary results of an experiment aimed to test the behaviour of low cost hardware components for the realisation of long distance wireless infrastructures. For this purpose, a star topology network made of links ranging from 100 to 300 kms was implemented. Performance analyses were run for about two months, showing extraordinary stability and reliability and excellent data transport performance.
