  • Abstract
    This research proposes a traffic report system via a GSM mobile station by using SMS messaging to increase the efficiency of a traffic report system that offer us the comfortable and rapid report system. Another part of this research is a problem-solving of Thai encoding between data from a mobile phone and a traffic database that uses different encodings. The structure of this traffic report system is divided in three parts. The GSM modem acts as a transceiver to communicate between a user and a system. Python program is used to control the report system and to convert Thai character encoding to make mobile phones and the database able to exchange information. Database is used to keep traffic information. The traffic report system will report traffic information which contains road and road congestion to end users via SMS messaging.
