The Evaluation and Analysis of Development Vigor of the Cities Located in Yangtze River Delta Area

Since the Yangtze River Delta area is well-known for its advanced and dynamic economy in China, the growth vigor evaluation of the cities in this area is related with the development of Chinapsilas social economy in the long run. This paper, based on system theories, presents an index system measuring cities´ development energy with respect to cities´ appeal, transforming efficiency, and exporting ability. Combining the grey fixed-weight clustering method with the leveled eigenvalue, we evaluate the growth vigor of 16 cities in the district and then work out categories regarding development vigor of them. In the end, it makes an analysis concerning cities belonging to different classes when practical conditions in the area is considered, and raises problems existing in their development stage as well as countermeasures and recommendations to solve them.
