Abstract
Creating a new communication degree with an information design major was a three year process designed to build on Mount Royalpsilas experience in developing and delivering applied degrees. Industry surveys conducted in 2005 revealed a critical shift in the professional fields targeted by the existing applied degrees being offered at Mount Royal. This resulted in developing a new degree that combines work experience, required and optional core courses, major field courses, and complementary courses in general education to ensure that graduates will have both depth and breadth of knowledge in communication and information design.
