Abstract
In this paper the conceptual design of a universal testing platform (testbed) based on SDR (software defined radio) paradigm for RF experiments targeting 700 MHzdivide2700 MHz frequency band is presented. The proposed solution is addressed to implementation and evaluation of new transmission techniques, RF architectures or modulation schemes. Testbed control, preparation of arbitrary modulation signals and no-real time post-processing of captured data are performed directly from Matlab. The expected performance of the overall system and characteristics of the major elements are discussed, including the analog frontend with direct up/down-conversion stage and PLL synthesized LO, DACs and ADCs, as well as baseband signal storage block (SRAM).
