Abstract
Collaborative design and simulation is the key technique for complex product development, which is a highly complicated multidisciplinary process. The information sharing and model transferring among different disciplinary domains are the bottleneck of complex product collaborative design and simulation. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the complex product collaborative design and simulation pattern based on product master model technology. Complex product master model is considered as the core model of the collaborative design and simulation process. A series of context models represent corresponding disciplinary context-specific, fully associate with the complex product master model. Three key techniques such as the logical structure of complex product master model, construction of complex product master model supporting collaborative design and simulation and the associative relationship and mapping mechanism between complex product master model and context models are studied to realize the pattern. The case study and implementation, adopted UG WAVE technology to actualize the complex product collaborative design and simulation process, illustrates the feasibility of the pattern proposed.
