National Grid and CE-Electric have been part of an ENA working group looking at flood resilience of electricity infrastructure following the events in Yorkshire and Gloucestershire during the summer of 2007. The presentation will describe the flood events and their impact from a transmission and distribution perspective and highlight how the industry has been working with SPEA, EA, Government and Ofgem to develop a common response. The speakers will cover flood risk assessment, risk mitigation measures and permanent flood defence measures, highlighting the improvement in our understanding of flood risk and our ability to engage with key stakeholders, particularly resilience fora, to co-ordinate response to flood risk.
