Abstract
Fingerprint matching is one of the most import modules in the automatic fingerprint identification system (AFIS). This paper brings out an approach to locate the corresponding minutiae of two fingerprint images. The local feature, which consists of a central minutia and its neighborhood within some specified radius R, is defined at first. Then the degree of similarity between minutiae of the template and the query images are obtained by matching local features of minutiae. Finally the corresponding minutiae that have a higher degree of similarity than a threshold value are selected as reference points. The experimental results confirm the effectiveness of our approach.
