  • Abstract
The electric invalidation of electronic connectors under fretting wear is a very complex process, and often causes automobile failures. Though the failures are troublesome, there hasnpsilat been a quantitative model to describe the fretting process. To explain the microcosmic principle, a cellular automata (CA) model based on self-organizing method is proposed. After setting up local evolution rules, the simulation of fretting wear process will work out the contact resistance of electronic connectors. It is shown that, there is a high correlation relationship between the simulation result and experimental data. The correlation coefficient also testifies the validity of the model and the methodology.
