Abstract
This paper presents a fuzzy immune control method and its application. A fuzzy immune self-turning PID controller was designed based on the combination of fuzzy control, immune feedback mechanism and conventional PID control. The main feature of the controller is that PID coefficients are respectively self-turning with fuzzy immune regulating and fuzzy inference. The controller was applied to shield´s earth-pressure-balance simulation system with delay, nonlinear, and time-variable characteristics, established according to similarity criterion. The experiments proved that the controller has the property of less overshoot, quick response, and strong robustness, compared with conventional PID controller. This control method improved the dynamic response and stability of the simulation system. This provides the beneficial reference in improving the control performance of shield´s earth-pressure-balance system and increasing the safety of shield tunneling construction.
