Abstract
Many studies on electronic brainstorming have been carried out in the past two decades. But few studies have examined the dynamic change in the process of idea generation in electronic brainstorming, which may help a facilitator better manage a brainstorming session. This paper reports the results of an empirical study that investigates the relationship between the number of ideas generated and the time taken while groups are performing a single electronic brainstorming task within a single time span. The result shows that the group participation increases then decreases beyond that. The result also shows that the number of idea generated decreases over time but a few peaks may appear. This result may help improve the electronic brainstorming performance.
