  • Abstract
RFID finds wide-ranging applications in many fields. When customers decide to implement a RFID application, they are possibly confused with some technical problems while allocating tags and readers to satisfy their business requirements. Due to the environment complexity, a general RFID deployment strategy is inapplicable that means the customers must create their own specific one. A simulator for RFID deployment design, view, simulation and evaluation is helpful in walking customers through their problems. In order to improve the deployment efficiency for a RFID application, research has been done on a test based RFID deployment simulator. The proposed simulator is designed to model virtual devices based on the test data as tags, readers and environmental factors. The RFID events in the simulation fall into two levels as reader events and business events. By simulation, candidate deployment plans are evaluated to choose out an optimal one. Furthermore, the RFID deployment simulator is general designed that can be applied in different fields.
