Abstract
This paper reviews the state-of-the-art of peer-to-peer Internet video multicast technologies. We describe the basic taxonomy of peer-to-peer multicast, and closely examine two approaches (tree-based and mesh-based). Then we discuss their fundamental tradeoff and potential for large-scale deployment respectively. We also discuss the influence of NATs and Firewalls and interpret their corresponding solutions.
