  • Abstract
    Offset loading is usually considered as the special instance of upright loading in the traditional design process of wheel loaders. The value of stress is often magnified by the traditional design method. It leads that the intensity reserve of lift-arms is needless big. This may result in the waste of raw materials, an increase of lift-arms’ weight and low work efficiency. The offset loading coefficient is introduced in this study to accurately calculate the force of wheel loaders. Upright loading is considered as a special instance of offset loading in this method. The force analysis of offset loading and upright loading is unified into one continuous function through the introduction of offset loading coefficient. Then the stress changing trend of the lifting arms can be analyzed quantificationally. Finally an experiment is designed to validate the accuracy of CAD model and CAE analysis. The results of the experiment show the validity of the presented method.
