Safety case study

Despite the relative ease with which Route Acceptance Safety Cases have been approved over recent years the process has now been radically revised with the introduction of new European legislation and associated UK enabling regulations. This paper is an attempt to show how the risk assessment process used by Siemens and developed over the last few years will be applied within the framework of the new legislation.
